I play alternative and traditional world blues with harmonicas, resonator guitars and various other instruments. My main focus is on creating new music for the harmonica and slide guitar. I’m also thrilled to play prewar blues, traditional Middle-Eastern instruments and Arabian music. I have composed music and accompanied for silent film, theater, dance, animation, poetry and a fire sculpture festival.
Sigi Tolo is a trio that combines elements from Middle-Eastern music, klezmer, African sounds, post rock and metal. Sigi Tolo’s self titled debut album is available in BandCamp for free listening and digital download for 10$. Check out our Facebook page for more.
Sigi Tolo started out in 2010 as an acoustic trio searching for connections between West African music, the blues and Finnish folk melancholy. These early sessions, recorded just a couple of months after the band’s formation, pay hommage to the musical works of Boubacar Traoré, Toumani Diabaté, Ali Farka Touré, Robert Pete Williams, Skip James and other exceptional blues/griot troubadours.
Aurion Codex: The Aural Manuscript is a musical journal where I’m channeling my most esoteric ideas, raw blues demos, live cuts and experiments with oriental instruments.
